Today. Monday, May 25, 2020, is Memorial Day. A day we set aside to honor those who gave the greatest sacrifice in order to secure our freedoms here at home. Many celebrations are going on throughout the country.

One way we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice if with our flag. As mentioned in a previous article, we fly the flag at half-mast until noon when we raise it to the top. An additional remembrance that covers our country ids the playing of taps. At 3:00 p.m. everyone is asked to play taps. Not disobeying social distancing, one just steps outside with a musical instrument- horn, trumpet, guitar, whatever- and play. The sheet music is here if you want to practice ahead.
Who Is Participating?
This event is for the well-trained musician as well as the novice. It is a way the entire country- quarantined or not- can participate in honoring those who died in the military. With parades canceled along with other ceremonial events, this is a terrific way each neighborhood can honor our military.
