The Thayer, Missouri, Bobcat Marching Band has been competing against other high schools in the last month. The band has been winning all different kinds of awards throughout their season.
Mt. Vernon
In the competition at Mt. Vernon on September 24, 2022, Thayer received first place in Class 2 and received awards for outstanding music, outstanding general effect, outstanding percussion, and outstanding auxiliary (colorguard).
MSU
At the Missouri State University on October 1st, Thayer won first place in the Maroon Division in the day. For the competition against the other schools they also got awards. For preliminaries, Thayer won first in class and swept the caption awards (music, visual, general effect, color guard, percussion, drum major, and solo). In the finals, they finished sixth overall (that combines the class of larger schools). [1]
Jonesboro
This past Saturday, October 8th, the Bobcats once again competed against other schools. The band won first place in Class AA2, second place in their class in percussion, outstanding soloist in class (Maddi Smith), second division excellent rating, and eighth place overall out of all the bands (nineteen in total).
