We honor our veterans on Veterans Day which is November 11th. This year, there are assemblies, celebrations, and parades in Alton, Missouri; West Plains, Missouri; and Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Parades
Two parades are being held on November 11, 2021, to honor our veterans. One is in West Plains and the other is in Mammoth Spring.
West Plains
The West Plains Veterans Day Parade is going to begin at 11:00 am at Peoples Park on the corner of Porter Waggoner and Broadway. The lineup will start at 10:00 am. The Color Guard will lead the parade with an escort from the West Plains Police. The Grand Marshall, the West Plains Zizzer Band, and the Veterans Service Organizations will also be in the parade.
Mammoth Spring
Mammoth Spring’s Veterans Day Parade lineup will start at 1:00 pm on November 11th in the Simmons Bank Parking Lot. [1] Spectators are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue.
Assemblies/Celebrations
The West Plains High School, the West Plains Senior Center, and the Alton school is hosting assemblies/celebrations on November 11, 2021.
West Plains
The West Plains High School is having a Veterans Day assembly at 10:00 am. All area veterans are invited to come. Veterans can arrive at 8:30 am for breakfast. The West Plains Senior Center is having a lunch for the veterans at noon. Reservations are required and veterans can eat lunch free of charge. If you would like to make a reservation, call the senior center at 417-256-4055.
Alton
There is a Veterans Day Assembly at the Alton school in the FEMA Building. It will be held at 1:00 pm on November 11, 2021. [2]
Honor our veterans who have fought so hard to protect our country and show your appreciation towards them at these events.
