Video: 2024 Was A Blessed Year- Here’s To 2025

In 2024, the AltonMo.com field team covered dozens of events in Alton, Thayer, Koshkonong and the surrounding areas. Here’s 2024 in review.

Games

AltonMo.com went to numerous basketball and football games, as well as a couple of volleyball games of nearby schools. At some of the games, the field team interviewed the players.

Festivals

One of the main events that AltonMo.com covered was the Walnut Festival, where it had their first photo contest. Another festival covered was the Koshkonong Heritage Day.

4th of July

During the Independence Day celebrations, the AltonMo.com field team attended Alton, Thayer, and Thomasville’s celebrations. At both Alton and Thayer’s festivities, the team handed out 125 bags in total with various items from local businesses and churches.

Fair

In June, the AltonMo.com team interviewed livestock owners of pigs, cows, rabbits, chickens, and ducks; most of them being local FFA or 4-H kids.

Eclipse

Another big event in 2024, was the total solar eclipse. Along with taking pictures of the eclipse, the team also covered local events for the eclipse.

Elections

2024 was also a major election year. AltonMo.com covered meet and greets, interviewed some candidates, and gave out 110 free cookie coupons during the general elections.

Other Events

Other events AltonMo.com covered included a truck pull in Alton, Governor Parson’s groundbreaking ceremony in West Plains, the local 4-H banquet, Simpson’s True Value 60th anniversary, Alton Bank’s 100th anniversary, city council meetings, Court Square Cafe’s two-year anniversary, BB Road Hunter’s Meal, and the Alton Christmas parade.
