Karla Eslinger of the 155th district has announced her bid for state senate.If she wins, she would be taking Senator Cunningham’s place as he has term-limited out.
A Brief History
Karla was raised by a single mother in Theodosia, graduating high school in Gainesville. She later attended College of the Ozarks. This woman has a master’s degree in elementary education, a specialist degree in school finance and law, and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis. Karla has provided technical assistance to the US Department of Education in Washington, DC.
Practically, she was a teacher, principal, and superintendent for Ava. This highly educated female also served as superintendent of West Plains R7. She has been a representative since her election in November 2018. Currently, she lives in Wasala with her husband.
Political History
While working as a state representative, she served on two committees: elementary and secondary education, and workforce development. She is a Republican.
Her Senate Goals
If she wins the senate seat, she longs to improve education, economic development, and access to quality healthcare. Serving is her way of giving back to the community, that means much to her. She wants to repeal regulations that could hinder farmers. She also wants to review all government programs. She does not believe undocumented immigrants should be allowed to vote in Missouri.
