Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, announced his endorsement of Donald Trump in the Presidential election. In his statement, the ninety-four-year-old Aldrin underscored America’s potential and the need for strong leadership in overcoming domestic and global challenges.

Emphasis

Aldrin emphasized America’s core values,

America is a nation of bold ambition, hope, and energy. We are a nation of free thought, free association, and free movement [1].

He then added,

Under President Trump, the Nation’s defense was enhanced with the creation of the U.S. Space Force— increasingly important as space becomes a contested domain [2].

Concerns

He voiced the concerns of most Americans- concerns over economic issues and issues of law and order.

As election day approaches, Aldrin urges citizens to make informed decisions, stating that in this election, we have a choice. He acknowledged that while the decision may be difficult for some, strong leadership is crucial during uncertain times.  However, most citizens still consider it an honor to vote for a leader they believe will best serve the Nation.

Aldrin ended his statement by wholeheartedly endorsing Trump for President of the United States. He said,

Godspeed President Trump, and God Bless the United States of America [3].
