President Trump’s inauguration is the big news of the past several days. Whether one agrees with him or not, one has to admit he is trying to make America great, give people confidence, and cut government spending. But to begin implementing his policies, he had to be sworn in as President. Trump placed his right hand in the air while his wife held two Bibles as he took his oath of office.
Importance Of The Two Bibles
As Mrs. Trump held the Bibles, one may ask where they came from. The first Bible was Trump’s own, given to him by his mother. Underneath it was President Lincoln’s Bible that he used when he took office. Chief Justice John Roberts led Trump in administering the oath.

Preceding Trump’s oath-taking, newly elected Vice President Vance took his oath. While doing so, he placed his right hand on a Bible held by his wife, Usha Vance, who also held one of their three children. Associate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh swore in Vice President Vance.
The Oath
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts led Trump in administering the presidential oath. This is what Trump promised.
ROBERTS: “Please raise your right hand and repeat after me. I, Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear…”
TRUMP: “I, Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear…”
ROBERTS: “that I will faithfully execute…”
