Primary elections are coming up in about two and a half months, and candidates are getting their names out, as well as meeting with people. Democrat candidate for Missouri’s Eighth Congressional District, Franklin Delano “Denny” Roth II, had a meeting on May 16, 2024, at Court Square Cafe in Alton, Missouri, to meet with locals, voice his plans if elected, and to listen to locals concerns.
Global Warming
One individual brought up global warming, and what Roth II thought about it. Roth said that “it’s just like any other science. It’s measurable, it’s verified…”
Child Care
One of the topics that was discussed was health care. Roth said that “we need subsidized child care.” Going with being able to afford health care, Roth said that “But we need to raise the minimum wage…”
Immigration
Another topic that was brought up was immigration. Franklin Delano Roth said that he’s not for “unending immigration… it needs to be monitored.” He continued to say that a reason we have so many illegal immigrants is because “we’ve created such a roadblock to it.”
