It was a busy weekend for abortionists. First, the top three pro-abortion groups declared their support of Biden and his run for the Presidency in 2024. Next, Biden signed an executive order expanding abortion access. This comes shortly after the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling that Roe V. Wade was unconstitutional.
Anniversary
The anniversary many Americans honor is the overturning of Roe V. Wade. On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court sent abortion laws back to the states, saying their preceding judgment was unconstitutional. By this decision, the judges did not make abortion illegal. Instead, they allowed each state to make its own laws regarding abortions [1].
Abortion Support
Meanwhile, on Thursday, June 22, 2023, the top three abortion advocates- Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and Emily’s List- declared their endorsements of Biden as the Presidential nominee for the 2024 election. Mimi Timmaraju, head of NARAL-Pro-Choice America, said the of Biden administration,
They’ve also been strategically smart about deploying all the resources they can to really support providers and patients [2].
She implies support for killing unborn babies, not saving the babies’ lives.
Executive Order
Additionally, on Friday, June 23, 2023, Biden signed an executive order expanding abortion access. Biden said he’ll
work to protect reproductive health care, including codifying abortion rights in federal law [3].
