Alton, Mo. – On Friday, March 14, 2025, catastrophic storms tore through the region, destroying and damaging homes, barns, and structures. Removing debris is important. With that, one decides whether or not to rebuild. Whatever the decision, it could impact your tax situation. The Oregon County Assessor is reaching out to residents to contact him of any changes.
Assessor’s Message
Doug Bridges is the Oregon County assessor. He posted on social media that homeowners should contact him about damages. Our county has suffered a tremendous loss in the last week, with tornados, high winds, and wildfires.
Damages
The Assessor’s office needs to understand the damage to structures or no longer on the parcel. If it blew away, burned down, or is damaged badly enough that you will be taking it down, they need to know this.
Contact Information
Please call the office at 417-778-7471 or text his cell at 417-270-2800. They will then pull a property record card on your parcel and be out soon to take pictures of the damage and update your card.
