County Commissioner David Stubblefield Speaks At Rep. Meet And Greet

Alton, Mo. – On Saturday, June 1, 2024, the Oregon County Republicans met at Tucker Creek Park for a meet-and-greet of candidates. This meeting included several candidates running for local offices. Although not running for office, County Commissioner David Stubblefield was present, spoke about what was happening in the county, and answered questions mostly about the internet.

Internet Issues

Several attendees complained about the lack of internet access in the area. He agreed. He went on to say that the Current contract will continue for another two years. Just keep waiting, and they should get to your area. Meanwhile, no one can say of a good internet provider at present. We are rural and spread out. It takes time to reach the entire county.

Additions

Stubblefield spoke briefly about Jordan’s coming into the area as a boost for getting gas and diesel, with truckstop conveniences. He told of the cleanup progress after recent tornadoes in Myrtle and around the Thomasville area.
