Governor Michael Parson on April 3, 2020, issued an order for everyone in Missouri to stay at home as much as possible. [1] When going outside it is necessary to take the proper precautions. One way to do this is to observe the social distancing of six feet (6′). Another way is to avoid gatherings of people ten or more.
Who Is Open?
Businesses that are doing critical work (find out what critical work is here) with the square footage of less than ten thousand square feet (10,000 ft²) can have twenty-five (25) percent or less of the entity’s authorized fire or building code occupancy, as set by local authorities. Businesses with square footage of ten thousand square feet (10,000ft²) or more can have ten (10) percent or less of the entity’s authorized fire or building code occupancy, as set by local authorities.
Are Schools Open?
Schools will remain closed, but child care/daycares can stay open. This order does not limit the people of Missouri on how we sell/buy firearms and ammunition for the firearms.
Are Government Offices Open?
The order closed all state office buildings to the public, except for the State Capitol Building during meetings or proceedings of the General Assembly. Still, the government’s essential state functions shall continue.
In the order, it said, “This Order does not prohibit people from accessing essential services, such as grocery stores, gas stations, and banks, or engaging in outdoor recreation, provided that necessary precautions are taken and maintained to reduce the transmission of COVID-19…”
