There has been much conversation about securing our nation’s southern border. As one of the few delegated jobs for the President, he is allowing illegal persons to cross by the hundreds of thousands, overwhelming our country. Texas tried to stop them, but the Supreme Court ruled that they had to remove barbed wire. However, that is a thin line. Texas does have the right to defend itself.
In support of that, thirteen governors traveled to southern Texas to see the situation themselves. They were appalled. What is happening will not stay in Texas. We have an illegal immigration problem. Parson said the shocking point was when he saw people crossing the Rio Grande River to get to America.
President Trump called on all fifty states to enforce the border with national guardsmen. Missouri already has about 250 guardsmen down there. Governor Parson made the statement,
When it comes to securing the border to protect the American people, we all become border states [1].
Parson said he plans to spend the week coming up with an action plan, which could include sending Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and drones to Texas.
In regards to the President protecting our country, Parson said,
It’s a shame the President of the United States is not enforcing the laws in the Constitution [2].
It is the governor’s hope that more Missouri resources will arrive in Texas within a month. Also, his office is examining the cost and sustainability of these resources.
