Missouri legislators are currently deciding who chooses what goes into your meat and how much the public needs to know. This bill gives transparency to consumers when buying food. It concerns labeling for GMO foods. Specifically, it lets the buyer know if the meat was injected with mRNA.

Who Is Sponsoring This Bill?

Representative Holly Jones from Eureka, Missouri, sponsored this bill. She is concerned that items inserted into our beef or pork could have the capacity to infect an individual with a disease or to expose an individual to certain genetically modified materials. She desires transparency, everything in the open for the consumer to know and choose himself.

This bill had its second read, and on March 22, it had a public hearing. Currently, this bill is not on the house calendar. You can read the bill here.

And Representative Jones brought it to the House floor.  She is concerned with meat injected with human gene-altering therapies.

Legalization

If it becomes a law, it will become effective on August 28, 2023.
