How U.S. Missouri Representative Jason Smith Voted

Last week, United States representative for Missouri, Jason Smith, was busy voting on two different pieces of legislation.

H.R. 26

H.R. 26 is also called “Protecting American Energy Production Act.” This bill prohibits the President from declaring a pause on using hydraulic fracturing unless Congress authorizes the postponement. The bill also expresses Congress’s sense that states should maintain primacy (authority) for the regulation of hydraulic fracturing for oil and natural gas production on state and private lands.

This bill was passed and Representative Smith voted for it.

H.R. 27

The HALT Fentanyl Act, or H.R. 27, states that fentanyl is a drug that has a high potential for abuse- in the schedule I class. This bill passed and Representative Smith voted for it.
