Newly elected President Trump pardoned 23 pro-life activists Thursday in an Executive Order the day before the annual March for Life. In a flurry of executive orders promised before he was sworn in, Trump pardoned those wrongfully arrested and persecuted under the Biden administration. First, he forgave the detained J-6 -ers, and then he pardoned pro-lifers.

Pro-Lifers

Some individuals had been sentenced to multiple years in prison after being convicted mostly for engaging in peaceful protests and prayers outside of abortion facilities.

As Trump was about to sign the order, he spoke compassionately about the pardon recipients.

They should not have been prosecuted. Many of them are elderly. This is a great honor to sign [1].

Meanwhile, Peter Breen, Thomas More Society Executive Vice President and Head of Litigation, commented,

Today is a new day for the pardoned pro-life advocates who have suffered FBI raids, federal prosecutions, and severe punishment for peacefully and courageously witnessing for life. We thank President Trump for keeping his promise to these pro-life mothers, fathers, grandparents, pastors, and priests. What happened to these peaceful pro-life individuals must never happen again [2].

Biden’s Administration

The Biden administration’s Department of Justice targeted pro-life activists across the country under the controversial Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. The Biden-Harris administration had not prosecuted anyone under the FACE Act for the 436 church attacks that took place last year. Pro-life pregnancy resource centers are 22 times more likely to be attacked than abortion facilities.

Additionally, Biden awarded the previous head of Planned Parenthood the Medal of Freedom for all she does. Incidentally, she just died from cancer.
