President Trump has Approved Florida’s disaster declaration and Georgia’s emergency declaration. In the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, these states will be needing all the help they can get after such close contact with the hurricane. President Trump is helping provide some of that by sending federal aid and support.
In the wake of Hurricane Michael, President Trump is committed to fully supporting state and local recovery efforts. “We will not rest or waver until the job is done and the recovery is complete.”

Supplying aid to Florida and Georgia
President Donald J. Trump declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Florida and ordered Federal aid to supplement State and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Michael beginning on October 7, 2018, and continuing.
The President’s action makes Federal funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Bay, Franklin, Gulf, Taylor, and Wakulla.
Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster. [1]
President Trump declared that Florida is having a disaster and is helping by supplying them with resources and volunteers. With federal help and funding, Florida can devote extra effort into helping its citizens get back on their feet again.
President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the State of Georgia and ordered Federal assistance to supplement State, tribal, and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Michael beginning on October 9, 2018, and continuing. [2]
President Trump also stated that Georgia is in a state of emergency. Almost the entirety of Georgia was swamped with rain from Hurricane Michael and its state authorities are working overtime to put things back in order.
