On January 23, 2024, Senator Hawley demanded answers from the federal government as to why they went into people’s bank accounts (unlawful) and paid money to fund anti-conservatives.
Bank Accounts
He recently found out that the FBI was going through conservatives’ bank accounts. Those who purchased items at hunting/fishing stores or even a religious bookstore suddenly had their bank accounts flagged. The government wants to know who is conservative in this country. Senator Hawley reminded the press that,
Bank accounts are not open to the federal government to just go look at without a warrant or some legal process [1].
He exclaimed that the federal government and banks were wrong for allowing this spying to continue.
Spending Money Where?
Meanwhile, Hawley found out that the federal government spent $700,000 on an activist group to create propaganda attacking conservatives. This group wrote blogs attacking President Trump and other conservatives.
Senator Hawley noted that,
Conservatives are now public enemy No. 1 inside the Biden administration [2].
Hawley wants an accounting of every dime spent on this propaganda machine. He went on to denounce the Biden administration by saying,
This amounts to the use of government funds to further President Biden’s political agenda [3].
Senator Hawley is one of two US senators for Missouri.
