In March, AltonMo.com reported on the terrible fire that destroyed the Eminence Volunteer Fire Department. The fire broke out early in the morning and totally destroyed the building, trucks, and equipment. The blaze brought firefighters from nearby towns, including Thayer.

Afterward, they held fundraisers and took donations to help recoup costs.

We have a good news update!

Missouri has allocated the Eminence Fire Department $1 million to help rebuild and equip its fire department. The department lost all seven trucks and equipment when its firehouse burned. The crew has been using a nearby business building since then. This money will be used to construct a new firehouse. Multiple state senators and representatives helped make this possible.

As we ponder this, we are grateful for the local firefighters in our area, including the Alton Fire Department and BB Road Volunteer Fire Department. We wish the people of Eminence and the firefighting crew a quick recovery to help them do their business.
