“Russia did not help me get elected… Russia didn’t help me at all,” was what President Trump said on Thursday morning after getting fed up with the endless accusations of Russia interfering with the 2016 election. This outburst came a day after special counsel Robert Mueller gave a brief statement on his investigation on Russia and 2016s campaign.

Russia, Russia, Russia!

On Thursday morning Trump tweeted that he “had nothing to do with Russia helping me to get elected,” sending reporters into a flurry at this admission. Shortly after he made the tweet, Tump appeared on the White House Lawn and told reporters that he had got himself elected without the help of Russia, and even managed to make a dig at Democrats while he was at it. “You know who got me elected? I got me elected,” he said. “Russia didn’t help me at all. Russia, if anything, I think, helped the other side.” [1]

The Greatest Presidential Harassment in history

Since he first became president, Trump has denied all accusations of Russia being involved in the 2016 election. However, after Mueller gave his first public statement on the Mueller report on Wednesday saying that “if we had had confidence that the president had clearly not committed a crime, we would have said so.” Mueller continued, “charging the president with a crime is not an option we could consider.” [2]

Trump called it “The Greatest Presidential Harassment in history,” on Thursday morning, remarking that if Mueller had any charges to bring, he would have brought them.
