On Thursday, February 20, 2025, Kash Patel won enough positive votes to become the next Director of the FBI. He won with a vote of 51-47. This Trump nomination is vital to pro-life Americans to help reform the FBI. Under the previous administration, Christians, Catholics, and pro-life citizens were targeted by the FBI.
Who Is Kash Patel?
He is not married. Patel is a former federal defender and Justice Department counterterrorism prosecutor. He was a staffer on the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee when he helped write a memo with pointed criticism of the FBI’s investigation into ties between Russia and Trump’s 2016 campaign. Patel later joined Trump’s administration as a counterterrorism official at the National Security Council and as chief of staff to the defense secretary. He is a MAGA loyalist who has criticized the FBI.
His Plans
Patel has spoken of his desire to implement major changes at the FBI. This includes a reduced footprint at headquarters in Washington and a renewed emphasis on the bureau’s traditional crime-fighting duties instead of the intelligence-gathering and national security work that has come to define its mandate over the past two decades. However, he also echoed Trump’s desire for retribution. Patel raised the alarm among Democrats for saying before he was nominated that he would “come after” anti-Trump “conspirators” in the federal government and the media. He also noted that some January 6 rioters were political prisoners.
Democrats complained about Patel’s lack of management experience. However, they did allow the former FBI director to target Christians, Catholics, and pro-lifers. Senator Hawley was vocal in his stance against this.
