House Speaker invited Calvary Chapel Pastor Jack Hibbs to pray in the House. However, many Democrats condemned this action.
Pastor Hibbs was allowed to pray as a guest chaplain in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 30, 2024, reports The Christian Post. By February 15, twenty-six Democrats wrote a letter to the Speaker of the House, condemning him for his choice in this matter.
Democrat’s Stance
In this letter, they denounced Hibbs as a Christian nationalist who was guilty of “spewing hateful vitriol” toward homosexuals because he had dared to affirm a Biblical view of marriage and sexuality. They were especially upset that he claimed rightfully that America was founded as a Christian nation.
They insist that
he should never have been granted the right to deliver the House’s opening prayer on January 30, 2024 [1].
They also had trouble with Hibbs’ use of the terms “holy fear,” “repentance,” and “national sins.”

Prayer
One who prays before Congress does have restrictions. You can read his prayer here.
