Thayer, Mo. –On September 22, 2023, the Thayer Bobcats went up against the Houston Tigers at Louis Bozman Field. The Bobcats won 18-7. This matchup was also the homecoming game for Thayer. While there, AltonMo.com got a chance to interview the cheerleaders and homecoming queen candidates.
Cheerleaders
One question asked the cheerleaders was, “What is your favorite part of being a cheerleader.” Most of the answers consisted of getting the crowd pumped up. Another question asked was, “How many years have you been cheerleading.” For most cheerleaders, it was two years, although some have been doing it for about ten years.
Homecoming Queen
The AltonMo.com field team also interviewed the Homecoming Queen senior candidates: Danyca Donahue, Ella Johnson, and the Homecoming Queen Jaylie Haven. The main question asked of the girls was, “What advice do you have for students who may be interested in being picked for Homecoming Court.” The three main answers were to be friendly, to do extra things, and to be in clubs and sports. When asked how she feels about being picked as the Homecoming Queen, Jaylie Haven said she “feels grateful.”
