Green Bay, WI. – The Kansas City Chiefs went up for their last game of 2019s pre-season. Their opponent was the Green Bay Packers. The field they played in belonged to Green Bay Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin on August 29, 2019. It was an intense game for both teams, but the final score was 20-27 with the Chiefs losing in the end.
A Tight Game
In the first quarter, the Chiefs were the only one who received any points- from a three-pointer field goal. In the second quarter, the Chiefs made a touchdown and attempted a field goal. The Packers also got points in the second quarter leaving at halftime a score of 10-20. In the third quarter, the Chiefs once again were the only ones that got points. They received 10 points in the third quarter, tying them with the Packers. In the fourth quarter, the Packers made a touchdown and their field goal attempt to put the final score as 20-27, with the Packers in the lead.
Starters sat Out
In this game against the Packers, neither team put their starters on the field. The backups and rookies had a chance to prove themselves worthy for the rosters. The rookie quarterbacks for the Chiefs were Kyle Shurmur and Chase Litton. Shurmur, who played the first half, completed 14 of 20, threw for 143 yards, threw for one touchdown and one interception. Litton, who played the second half, completed 11 of 19, threw for 62 yards, threw for one touchdown, and had two rushes for 8 yards.
For the Packers, all three of their backups/rookies played in the game. The backup and rookie QB’s were Tim Boyle who played first, DeShone Kizer who played second and Manny Wilkins who played last. Boyle completed 3 of 6, threw for 18 yards, and threw for one touchdown. Kizer finished 8 of 15, threw for 77 yards, threw for one touchdown and one interception, and had one rush for 13 yards. Wilkins, who played last, completed 1 of 1, threw for 21 yards, and had four rushes for 17 yards. The players that caught the touchdown passes for the Packers are Dexter Williams, Evan Baylis, and Jace Sternberger.
The NFL season for the Chiefs starts in six days. The Chiefs will go against the Jacksonville Jaguars in EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The game will be held on September 8, 2019, at noon. Beware of the weather and news down there because of Hurricane Dorian making landfall this week.
