The Alton, Missouri, High School has a band this year, and along with the band comes a new teacher. The band teacher is Kaleb Gray. The AltonMo.com field team had a chance to interview him and some of his students.
Band Instruction
Growing up in Branson, Missouri, Gray had an early introduction to music. Having studied music at College of the Ozarks, he is on his fifth year as a band instructor.
His Goals
For this year, Gray’s goals are to get the kids playing the right notes, getting the tone, and good habits. For next year, he wants to expand to a marching band to hopefully play in next year’s Christmas parade.
Performance
When asked when the band’s first performance would be, Kaleb Gray responded that it would be in the spring sometime of next year.
