Alton, Mo. – It’s an Oregon County Showdown! The Thayer Bobcats junior varsity and varsity boys basketball teams went up against the Alton Comets on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Alton High School Gym.
JV
During the entire first half, the two teams were neck and neck, being only a couple of points apart. At halftime, the score was 23-19, with Thayer in the lead. During the second half, the Bobcats began to pull away. Thayer came away with the win 55-35.
Varsity
The Alton Comets managed to keep up with the Thayer Bobcats in the first few miutes. As the game continued, Thayer increased the lead by over 10 points. Thayer was leading at halftime 41-30. In the second half, Thayer kept on adding to their lead. Several three-pointers were made in the half. The final score, with Thayer taking the win, was 83-61.
