The final games before Super Bowl LIV, the AFC and NFC Championship Games are done, and the two teams who are moving on to face each other in the Super Bowl are the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
History
San Francisco won the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers on January 20, 2020, 37-20. The 49ers haven’t been to the Super Bowl since Super Bowl XLVII against the Baltimore Ravens. Which the Ravens won 34-31. The 49ers have proceeded to the big game six times and have won it five times.
The Chiefs who had a tragic loss last year in the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots, who went on to win the Super Bowl, came back and redeemed themselves in a 35-24 win over the Tennessee Titans. The Chiefs haven’t appeared in the Super Bowl since the season of 1969, which is about 50 years ago. The Chiefs have only been in the Super Bowl two times and have only won once.
It would have been a historic Super Bowl if both the Chiefs and the Packers went on to the big game. It would be a replay of the first Super Bowl in 1967 which the Packers won 35-10. It would also be memorable as this is the NFL’s 100th season.
Games
Super Bowl LIV will take place in Miami, Florida, at Hard Rock Stadium. The stadium is home to the Miami Dolphins who failed to make the playoffs. Hard Rock Stadium has held five Super Bowl’s, XXIII, XXIX, XXXIII, XLI, and XLIV. Right now, the weather for the Super Bowl is scattered thunderstorms; the game-time projection is cloudy with showers. The temperature is 77 degrees Fahrenheit (high) and 64 degrees Fahrenheit (low) and winds will be 10-15 mph. [1] The main broadcasting system will be FOX for Super Bowl LIV.
