Couch, Mo. – On Saturday, March 29, 2025, Couch High School held the first Oregon County Alumni Showdown. Both men and women alumni made up teams from Koshkonong, Thayer, Alton, and Couch.

Kosh V. Alton
The Koshkonong and Alton women’s teams met on the court shortly after lunch. Kosh was leading 28-13 at the half. Kosh continued to lengthen the lead, capitalizing on their bigger team. Alton did not give up, though, and made several three-pointers. The final score was 47-30.

Couch V. Thayer
The next game was Couch versus Thayer men’s teams. Both teams were evenly matched, with neither team scoring that many points in the 15-minute quarter. At halftime, the score was 22-16, with Thayer in the lead. Both Couch and Thayer also resorted to mainly three-pointers throughout the game. The teams continued to fight as the game neared the end. The score was separated by a little over ten points with Thayer winning, but a fan of Couch bought points, letting Couch take home the win, 58-48.

Couch V. Alton
The women’s teams from Couch and Alton battled out on the court next. Couch scored first, quickly followed by Alton. At halftime, the game was tied 15-15. Both teams continued to remain close in the last quarter. Before points were bought, Couch won 32-27, and with points bought, Couch won 62-38.
