Thayer, Mo. –The Thayer Bobcats football team went up against the Lighthouse Christian Chargers on September 6, 2024, at Louis Bozman Field in Thayer, Missouri. The Bobcats took the win 48-7.
Early Start
The Bobcats took an early start just four minutes in the game when Thomas Poole (#8 for Bobcats) ran into the endzone. Dawson Harris (#7 for Bobcats) had a good run of about twenty yards with 2:13 in the quarter. Heath Combs (#2 for Bobcats) made the score 16-0 with his touchdown.
More Touchdowns
Right into the second quarter, Thayer made another touchdown making the score 22-0. Sawyer Morris (#15 for Chargers) made the only touchdown for the Chargers. With around five minutes in the half, Corbin Taylor (#20 for Bobcats) had around a thirty-yard run. The final touchdown of the quarter came from Zeb DuBois (#40 for Bobcats). During the first half, Lighthouse Christian made several good catches.
Lengthening Lead
Thayer continued to lengthen their lead going into the second half. With 9:40 in the third quarter, Cooper Clark (#74 for Bobcats) made an interception for his team. Poole followed that up with his second touchdown of the game. With 2:57 in the quarter, Poole scored his third touchdown in the game. To finish out the quarter, on a Bobcat kickoff, Brandon Prince (#5 for Bobcats) recovered the ball to give the Bobcats possession again.
Bobcats Win
The Bobcats pulled their starters out in the fourth quarter, putting in the younger players. Right after the fourth quarter started, Thayer got another touchdown, making the score 46-7. The final score was 48-7 with Thayer getting a safety. Thayer’s record improves to 2-0 with this win.
