The Thayer Bobcats took on the Greenwood Blue Jays in the Class 3 quarterfinal game on March 2, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. The Bobcats held on to the end to get the win 63-57.
First Half
The Bobcats score first with a two-pointer. In the first quarter, the game kept on being tied multiple times. Devin Harrington (#3 for Bobcats) had his first dunk of the night early on in the game. With :33 in the quarter, Easton Pitts (#1 for Bobcats) made a three-pointer putting Thayer up four points. Pitts came right back at the beginning of the second quarter with another three-pointer. Logan Sanders(#32 for Blue Jays) was vital to his team, making over seven three-pointers during the game. Easton Pitts would not let Sanders out-do him, so with around five minutes in the half, Pitts made another three-pointer. The score at halftime was 32-27, with Thayer in the lead.
Third Quarter
Sanders was still on fire in the third quarter, making several points for his team. Four different Bobcats scored in the third quarter. With around a minute of play in the quarter, Rowan Spencer (#2 for Bobcats) made a three-pointer. The score was tired 45-45 at the end of the third quarter.
Thayer Edges Out
The game was still extremely close in the final quarter. After over a minute of play with no points scored, Harrington stole the ball and made a slam dunk. The two teams continued to score with Thayer managing to keep the lead at least by one point. With around two minutes in the game, Aidan Burns (#12 for Bobcats) made his first dunk of the night, making the score 58-52. With less than twenty seconds in the game, the score was 61-57, with Thayer in the lead. When Greenwood went up to shoot, Harrington blocked the ball, and Burns went for his second dunk of the night. The game ended with Thayer winning 63-57.

With the win, this is Thayer’s third consecutive year going to the Show-Me Showdown Final Four.
