The Windsor Greyhounds (14-0) and the Mid-Buchanan Dragons (13-0) traveled up to Blair Oaks High School in Jefferson City, Missouri, on Saturday, December 5, 2020, for the Class 1 2020 Show-Me Bowl Football Championship. The Greyhounds won 43-20. [1]
Windsor’s Touchdown
The Windsor Greyhounds defense held the Mid-Buchanan Dragons to a punt on their first drive. The Greyhounds took their time in moving down the field. Kenton Sargent, Windsor’s quarterback, threw to his receiver Jacob Berube for a touchdown. The Greyhounds went for the 2-point conversion and got it. The score was now 8-0.
No Gain
The Dragons got the ball back, but the drive ended up as nothing. The Greyhounds also were not able to get any points and were forced to punt the ball.
Dragons Touchdown
Mid-Buchanan got the ball back. The team slowly moved down the field. Near the endzone, the Dragons quarterback handed off the ball to one of his players, who hurdled a Greyhounds player to get a touchdown. The Dragons went for the extra point, but the snap was fumbled, and the kick was no good. The score was then 8-6.
Dragons Injury
A few plays in the Greyhounds drive, one of the Dragons players went down. The player eventually got up and walked to the sideline with his arm in a sling.
Touchdown Windsor
Kenton Sargent (Windsor) threw a 40-yard pass to Witherspoon for a touchdown. The Greyhounds followed that up with a successful 2-point conversion. The score was now 16-6.
Defense Holds Each Other
The Dragons drive ended up as nothing. Kenton Sargent threw a nice 30-yard pass to Witherspoon. When the Dragons got the ball back once again, the Greyhounds defense held them to a punt.
Third Windsor Touchdown
Windsor moved quickly down the field. Kenton Sargent threw a 40-yard throw to Witherspoon for another touchdown. The 2-point conversion was no good. The score was 22-6 at halftime.
No Gain for Windsor
The Greyhounds received the kickoff to open the second half. Windsor got a couple of good runs down the field. The runs and throws, though, were not enough to get a touchdown.
Dragons Score
The Dragons quarterback threw some passes and handed off the ball on some of the plays. On one play, the quarterback ran for twenty-three yards. When only a couple of yards away from the endzone, the Dragons quarterback dived into the endzone for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion was no good. The score was now 22-12.
Lengthening The Lead
Windsor’s offense came onto the field ready for another touchdown. On one run, Witherspoon ran for twenty yards. When Kenton Sargent threw the ball to his intended receiver, the player bobbled the ball, and Fowler, who was behind him, grabbed the ball and ran into the endzone. The Greyhounds went for the extra point. The score was now 29-12.
49-yard Touchdown-Windsor
Kenton Sargent threw 40-yards plus to his receiver, Witherspoon, who managed to get out of two tackles, ran into the endzone again. The extra kick was good. The lengthening score was now 36-12.
Last Dragons Touchdown
The Dragons were really feeling the pressure now. They moved down the field, and the quarterback ran into the endzone. He also ran into the endzone for a 2-point conversion. The score was now 36-20.
Greyhounds Scores
The Greyhounds moved down the field with runs and throws. Kenton Sargent ran for seventeen yards for the first down. On another play, Kenton Sargent handed the ball off to Fowler, who ran for twenty-seven yards. On the scoring play, Kenton Sargent pitched the ball to Witherspoon, who dived into the endzone. The extra point went right through the goalposts. The score was 43-20.
Interceptions
When the Dragons got the ball back, on the second play, the quarterback threw the ball, and it got intercepted by a Windsor player. The Windsor’s drive ended up as a punt. On the Dragons drive, the quarterback threw the ball once again, and it got intercepted, but it was ruled out of bounds.

Winner
Both teams fought hard to try and win the championship. The Greyhounds prevailed and won. The final score was 43-20, with the Windsor Greyhounds being crowned the Class 1 2020 Show-Me Bowl State Champions.
