Alton, Mo. – Alton, Missouri has additional roadwork going on. First, the Missouri Department Of Transportation (MODOT) is working close to Alton, on P Highway. Then MODOT is working on Highway 160 west of Alton. Now MODOT has moved into town paving Vine Street.
Where Is The Paving?
MODOT is resurfacing Vine Street in Alton. Beginning at Market Street and paving up to School Street. In common terms, Paving goes from The Community Worship Center to the entrance to the schools.
This paving closed off Vine going into the Community Worship Center, in front of Clary’s Funeral Home, Alton United Methodist Church, and Alton Assembly of God church. Flagmen are out directing traffic on Market Street where it crosses Vine.
Why Resurfacing?
Although not widening the road, they are making it smoother before the upcoming school year begins. Further along Vine Street MODOT already paved. These are much used venues that needed care.
