Cold Here? New Hampshire Gets Snowstorm!

Snow falling down hard.

While some states are still experiencing summer-like temperatures, and Missouri has its fall season, New Hampshire received a snowfall on Thursday, October 10, 2024. If you plan an upcoming northeast vacation, you may want to check the weather and road reports before traveling.

New Hampshire

While New Hampshire is a small state, it is not small when it comes to winter weather. With the highest point in the northeastern U.S., colder temperatures arrive early and stay late. Thursday’s snowstorm brought a little snow accompanied by temperatures in the mid-20s, winds up to 60 mph, and wind chill values in the single digits. Brr that sounds like winter!

Closures

Mount Washington State Park in New Hampshire was closed on Thursday due to the winter weather. Additionally, New Hampshire does not have many interstates (which get plowed sooner). Thus, the smaller highways and roadways take longer to plow when inclement weather arrives.

As one of the first snowstorms of the season, this is a wake-up call that winter is around the corner. Time to prepare your vehicle and yourself for the change in weather.
